Q. "Where is the grocery?"

A. Turn left, then right, then go straight, left, right, right again, left, go around the bend, jump over the river and through the woods and you MIGHT find it.

Today it was a pretty rainy and icky day in Poland. Papa and I were able to visit the oldest castle in Krakow (Or maybe all of Poland?) built around 1100. I was able to take pictures of all of the exterior but we weren't allow to take pictures of the interior AT ALL. We went into the cathedral where I learned a whole bunch about a whole bunch of different kings and queens and went down into the crypts to see their tombs... it was awesome.

This ground used to have two small churches on it but the Nazis destroyed them in order to make a parade ground.

Once we finished looking at the castle, we visited the Pope John Paul II museum (no pictures there either). They had cloaks and chairs from previous popes and old rings and trinkets as well.

In order to get down from the high grounds we were on, we had to walk down spiral stairs. Little did we know that we'd end up in a cave at the bottom of the stairs.

The rain started coming down pretty heavily when we got out from the caves, so we ran to the nearest pizza shop where we ordered Margarita pizza. It was probably the best pizza I've ever had in my life.

Later in the day we were able to do a little bit more sightseeing but ultimately just wanted to find a grocery store so we could eat foods. I got the Polish version of cinnamon toast crunch.

Tomorrow we're seeing Auschwitz! So I'll have plenty of pictures then. In the time being, here's a cool picture of some fantastic street art in the courtyard of our apartment.

  1. And what does she eat while she's in Poland? Pizza and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Love it! Tomorrow's challenge is to eat something out of your comfort level. :) Love you! - Mom
